I'm Ian Sherr — a technology journalist, editorial strategist, and startup founder based in Silver Spring, MD.

My career has been about translation: taking complex technical and institutional work and finding the version of the story that earns attention from the people who need to hear it. I've done that as a reporter at the Wall Street Journal, as Executive Editor at CNET, as a correspondent at Reuters, and as a regular analyst for CBS News, BBC, and CNN.

Most recently I was Editor-in-Chief and President of Compliance Week, where I led the company's successful sale during a difficult market for media M&A — writing the acquisition pitch, driving the process, and closing the deal with full team retention.

I also have a working background in AI, Python, infrastructure, and product development. I founded Vostego, a career intelligence platform I built from the ground up — full stack, from Go microservices to the investor deck.

I consult on narrative strategy and communications for technical founders and institutions through Time Worthy Media.
